Ceramic moulded in different shapes and sizes has different applications in Iron and all electrical or electronic gadgets using Thermostat as a safety device to controls the temperature. It is used in shape of a Cap resting on bimetal of the iron which when heated cuts off the iron. Another application which has brought a major change in safety of iron is the Umbrella Rod which serves as a part of safety cut out as it rests on a Lead Pellet which melts at 300° C.
